  • Feb 8-13: STEMCivics representatives visit the Dominican Republic and Haiti in preparation for students to visit in May.
  • Sept. 7, 2016: STEMCivics opens for its third year.
  • April 18, 2016: Roger McGuinn, member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and founder of The Byrds, visits The PURPLEfect Palace. 
  • April 16, 2016: STEMCivics wins its third Spirit Award at the Mid-Atlantic Robotics District Championship. 
  • April 10, 2016: STEMCivics makes the semi-finals and earns the Spirit Award at the FIRST Robotics Montgomery meet and qualifies for the Mid-Atlantic Robotics District Championship. 
  • March 20, 2016: STEMCivics makes the semi-finals and earns the Spirit Award at the FIRST Robotics Seneca meet.

  • Dec. 15, 2015: STEMCivics offers conditional acceptance to members of the Class of 2020. 
  • Oct. 13, 2015: The STEMCivics Show, a one-hour radio production, debuts on PANJ Radio.

  • April 3-4, 2015 -- STEMCivics' robotics team wins Rookie All-Star Award in its second Mid-Atlantic Regional Robotics competition in North Brunswick.
  • March 24, 2015 -- STEMCivics is the guest of Siemens at its Plainsboro campus.
  • March 23-30 -- STEMCivics works with its partners at Princeton University's Community-Based Learning Initiative and We Care Solar to build solar cases for deployment in countries that do not have reliable electricity.
  • March 21-22, 2015 -- STEMCivics' robotics team competes in its first Mid-Atlantic Regional Robotics competition in Tabernacle

  • April 7, 2014 -- STEMCivics makes presentation about its unique design at the New Jersey Charter School Annual Conference. 
     
  • February 23, 2014 -- STEMCivics adopts Purple Lightning as its nickname. 
     
  • January 22, 2014 -- STEMCivics is invited to present its successes at Village Charter School (NJ) and the unique STEMCivics design at the 2014 NJ Charter School Associaton Annual Conference. 
     
  • January 16, 2014 -- The number of offers to enroll extends to 97.  Our maximum number is 100. 
     
  • January 3, 2014 -- Received $150,000 grant to further our program. 
     
  • January 1, 2014 -- Offered enrollment to 85 students. Our maximum number is 100. 
     
  • October 13, 2013 -- Building solar suitcases with We Care Solar will be part of the STEMCivics experience. Not only that, some of our students and staff will travel overseas to personally deploy the suitcases! We Care Solar was covered today by CNN. Read about it  here 
     
  • October 5, 2013 -- First students apply for admission. 
     
  • October 4, 2013 -- The NJDOE's approval of Trenton STEM-to-Civics Charter School was covered again, this time in The Times of Trenton. The article is here 
     
  • October 3, 2013 -- Trenton STEM-to-Civics Charter School was one of the three charter school applications the NJDOE approved. There were thirty-eight applications in all. To read about it in NJ Spotlight, click here 
     
  • September 30, 2013 -- The NJDOE grants initial approval of the charter. 
     
  • June 18, 2013 -- In the same article that reported a group of charter schools received censures, Trenton STEM-to-Civics Charter School was listed as one of the 13 in the state (out of a pool of 38 applications) greenlit to move to Phase II of the application process.
